About Judge Hyman

Judge Michael B. Hyman was appointed to the Circuit Court of Cook County in 2006 after a distinguished career in private practice. A graduate of Northwestern University School of Law, Judge Hyman served as an Assistant Illinois Attorney General for two years before joining the firm of Much, Shelist, Freed, Denenberg, Ament & Rubenstein, P.C., in 1979. Judge Hyman began as an associate with the firm; was named a partner in 1985; chair of the ethics committee in 1990; and was appointed to the management committee in 1995.
Judge Hyman has been an integral member of the Chicago legal community throughout his career. His integrity, honesty, fairness and commitment to justice propelled him to leadership positions in the:
